Every New Year's eve I love to reminisce about the year that is almost over. What was significant in my life, what has changed about myself, goals I may have accomplished or not accomplished.
Often I hear people say they don't make New Year resolutions anymore because they just never follow through. Understandable, but to me, the new year marks another year that I have to get what I want out of my life. Make my life the way I want it.
I may never follow through completely with my goals, but at least it gives me something to work on and strive toward. 2018 I didn't set any resolutions because I was in Hawaii after Christmas through new year's and just didn't think about it. Starting 2018 in the ocean in Hawaii is an amazing way to start a year off.
Because I didn't set any resolutions, I had no goals for myself. I didn't try to do anything new. I had a harder year with my depression and anxiety and I really think it was because I didn't have any goals to work toward.
Anyway, this year I'm making it a goal to make my resolutions and start really working on them.
My Resolutions for 2019:
Watch less TV: I have been so lazy the last few months. I hate how much TV I've been watching, and my kids see turning into TV addicts as well. I can't stand it!
Play with my kids more: cutting down on TV will help with this.
Cut down on the sweets and sugar intake: notice "cut down" because sweets are too good to give up completely.
I feel like my brain is feeling the crappy effects that eating too much sugar gives it, and I'm just so tired of it.
Make my house feel more like home:
I've lived in my house for over 3 years and it feels boring and plain looking. I feel like I need to find some decorations, and fix a few things so I can feel like I'm living in a home.
Work on gaining new friendships: I haven't had real friends for years. This year I had two new neighbors move in, and we have become friends. It feels incredible to actually have friends again and I'm hoping to make a few more friends this year.
